I have been awaken the past 4 nights by Marrow's noises. I have been hearing a new noice from his cage, it honestly sounds like he is either wripping his own quills out, or brushing them possibly. Are either of these 2 a possability? I looked on the interenet for them and couldn't really find much Thanks for the help!

My understanding is that ripping out a quill is rather painful to a hedgie, so I'm guessing he's not doing that to himself unless there is something really REALLy wrong.

Hedgies do make odd noises - could you tell us a bit more about what it sounds like? Based on what you've said so far, my guesses are scratching himself or digging/scratching on the bottom of his cage... but it's hard to tell.

The more I think about it, it sounds like combing...like hes combing himself, which I didn't know they did? Cause I have only read about self annointing. And I was not sure if that made a great deal of noise. But, it could be the fact I have him in a big tupperware creight, and it echoes?

He'es most likely scratching. Scratching can sound like ripping or combing quills.
