Hedgehogs are not rodents and their care is practically opposite. A hedgie might push one around, but there are better, safer toys out there.

Hedgies don't need rodent supplements either. If you want to supplement your hedgie's diet, go with some flaxseed oil or ground up glucosamine chondroitin tablets when he/she's older.

You can pretty much assume that everything (diet wise) is inappropriate for hedgies.

Generally it is used around 3 years and up for joint health. You can buy the tablets and crush them, and sprinkle it on their food. The good thing is you can't overdose it.

Standing Bear runs the Flash and Thelma Memorial Rescue and has been doing this for eight years, and none of his older hedgies have shown any signs of arthritis.
