So Q is going on two years old. Hes a delight to have. But once in a while, he'll poop and pee in his food bowl. I woke up this morning to a soupy mess! He has a litter area, but sometimes he'll still choose to do his business over his food. Is he sick? Why??

He's probably climbing into his food bowl as he eats, and once he gets eating, things get moving = poop. Beck used to do the same thing. I basically don't leave food down in his cage anymore--I take him out of his cage several times a day for playtime, and he has access to food and a litter box then. He'll use his litter box outside of his cage, but not in it for some reason. Maybe try feeding him out of his cage for a bit?

I'd suggest a smaller dish, yes. Whyte sits on his dish as well but its a small one so his butt hangs over. I use a very small saucer.

The smaller dish might help out :) I use a small heavy crock that is about 3 inches or so across and is too small for mine to fit in. Ive only had poop in the water the one time and it was when he was still getting used to his new home, I think even then he must have moved just right to make it land there lol
