My hedgy came across the smell of aloe on my legs today (really bad sunburn)
I exspected he might anoint or somthing
Instead he stared jumping.. straigh up into the air over and over.. did his little hissing, but no quils went up..

Anyone else ever experienced this.. freaked me out a bit.. So I put him down in his play pen so he can play

Careful with the aloe because it's on the SPCA's toxic to animals list. But HedgeMom has stated some pretty cool facts on this thread:

It's possible that your hedgie just doesn't like the smell. Kelsey's Lily reacted similarly to lanolin. So that's most likely the case.

Yeah.. I had washed my hands really well.. and my legs are under my pants.. I was just picking him up to check his feet to see if he needed a foot bath.. Just currious about the behaviour.. thanks
