My male who is 7 months old has very inconsistant poop texture. I do not vary his diet except for when he gets mealies as treats. He will poop nice healthy poops that dry to a firm dark long shape. Then all of a sudden he will poop out a very soft poop right in front of the door to his igloo. He does not seem sick and the poop is not green.

Will pumpkin fix him up? How much pumpkin should I give?

Pumpkin might help, but if you can't see a reason for the inconsistency I'm not sure. It wouldn't hurt to try. Sometimes hedgies have "stress poops", or softer ones, when they pop one out even when they don't really need to. (They often end up smeared on you. ) As long as they aren't green, exceptionally bad smelling, or anything like that I wouldn't be too worried.
