What are symptoms of a UTI, and what are symptoms of Uterine problems? I e-mailed my vet last night because I saw what looked like a tiny spot of blood in Mika's urine. However, she's peed at least 4 times since then and I haven't seen anything; she's been on paper towels for liner for a while so it was easy to spot. She also has mites and was injected with Ivermectin 2 days ago, which didn't seem do help her mites at all. I feel so bad for her, it seems like she doesn't get any sleep because she's scratching all the time.

Is it possible with all the scratching that she maybe poked her foot with a quill and that's where the blood came from? I have another vet apt. set in 2 weeks, and if I see any more blood I'll definitely call and see if I can go sooner. I don't think she's having a bad reaction to the Ivermectin, because she would probably have shown signs sooner and from what I've read, it's pretty obvious (i.e. paralysis, immobility,) and she's as active as normal, eating and drinking as much as she was before the shot, too.

She's getting to be quite the needy little girl. I sent out a few e-mails today so I can hopefully get a job to afford her vet visits. =\

Thanks guys. This is kinda giving me a little bit of a heartache.

OK guys, just an update, I got an email back from my vet. She said that she felt Mika is too young to anesthetize for a FNA (She's only about 8 weeks old), and that I should try and get a urine sample for a urinalysis. She said if anything, she felt that ABX would maybe help if that is the case, and could do that without a urine sample, since UTI's are common in hedgiehogs and she's still young.

She also said she's going to read over the information about Revolution and that she hadn't heard anything about Ivermectin being a cause a deaths in hedgehogs, but she'll talk to others in the veterinarian community about Revolution for kittens.

Any input is greatly appreciated! You guys have been a great help to me =D
