In a few weeks, I will be traveling to Washington D.C., and I have nowhere to put Remi. Therefore I want to bring her with me. I believe there shouldn't be legal issues, correct me if I'm wrong, but do you have any other tips for traveling long distances with a hedgie?

I dont think there would be any legal issues. Are you traveling car or plane?

If we do end up bringing her she will probably have a cat carrier for the car or will sit with me. I was thinking to get a pop up dog crate for her temporary home

My hedgie loves traveling! One major thing you can do to make the trip less stressful is to try not to travel at night since your hedgie will likely be hyper and antsy as you drive. And have treats and paper towels (for poop) easily accessible. That's about it. If your hedgie is asleep while you drive, there shouldn't be any problems.
