So this may sound odd, but does anyone's hedgie have a particular water preference? I ask because I have 3 options currently for Turbo- city tap water, rural tap water, and bottled water.
I have been using bottled water since I got him 6 months ago because we move around so much that I figured being consistent was better than trying to switch waters all the time. (I'm in college, had an apartment with my fiance, and go home to my parents house frequently- we move around a lot).

However, I was just wondering what other peoples opinions were on different types of water, and what the easiest way to make a transition is?

personally i use tap water for Cloud's drinking water. I use the tap down in gainesville and up in beaufort. I drink both waters and can notice a difference, but it's never seemed to bother cloud. He drinks as much as he does in gainesville as in beaufort

Some animals have a preference over waters, others don't care. Unless we're travelling somewhere, Inky gets tap water. (Believe it or not, in a lot of places, the tap is actually cleaner than bottled!)

I did a lot of research a while back on the differences, and in my area tap is one of the best in the US! I would drink it more often, if only it tasted better. :roll:

To switch him over, just mix old water with new for a few nights, and then use all new. If he isn't all that picky, you can go ahead and not even worry about the transition, just give him the new.

Have you considered getting one of those filters (the kind that goes on the tap, or the pitcher kind) and using that on the tap water? It might improve the taste by removing icky metals and whatnot from it.
Just a thought. I don't know if it would make much of a difference.
