I have recently acquired a hedgehog, and read online that they can be litter trained- which i immediately started doing. He easily picked it up, and hasn't had any problems. However, i later found out that you shouldn't use clumpable cat litter- which is what i started him on. Do you think if I switch him over to yesterdays news he'll still use the litter pan?

I think that it really depends on the hedgies personality, you should try adding paper and a little litter, then slowly take the litter away.

Ya. Basically what she said. Mix it, adding more and more of the new litter kind each time. Start out with almost all old litter kind though.

I personally feel like you should remove the clump able cat litter immediately. Clumping cat litter is not recommended because it can get stuck in sensitive places, and is a health threat.
Even if your hedgehog does potty outside of the box when you make the change to a new kind of litter, it's worth the safety of your little quilled friend.
