Hi

I know it has bars, but the bottom part of the cage is very deep.

The cage measures 21"deep x 40" Wide x 13" high(at highest point)

Do you think this would be suitable for a hoggie?

I will be upgrading it to a viv within a couple of months, but just for a couple of months would it be OK, as I am not flush with cash at the moment (just brought my first car!)

Yep, that is a perfectly fine cage to use. You can take out the hay hopper, and the hiding place if you want to use a different one. IMO it wouldn't be any problem to use that cage permenantly.

Okay, okay, I'll admit I totally love these cages for some reason and wish they were more readily available in the US. Minus the height issues, they are very nice!

Only thing that jumps out at me is the stairs to the top of the hut & the food ontop of the hut. You don't want to encourage climbing as the hedgie may fall and injury themselves, even off the low height of the hut. I would move the food to the main level & see if there's a way to modify the hut to cover the stairs (or pick up a different igloo. or cut a door in a giant icecream tub/margarine container and use it as an igloo)
