Hey there!
For some reason, my hedgehog cage has been smelling really bad lately. It never used to, but it's starting to smell bad, even though I clean out the poop every day. It's making my hedgehog a little smelly too.
What could be causing it?

What kind of bedding are you using?

Or are you using liners?
Does the cage still smell once you take out the dirty liner and put in a freshly washed one?
If not, how long until it starts smelling again?
How often to you do a full cage clean?

How is your hedgies water intake? (Less water intake = more potent urine)
What sort of food is your hedgie on? Has there been a change in food lately?

That sounds like it might be more of a health issue than a husbandry issue. If changing any cleaning habits or a bath or what not don't help, I would suggest going to the vet to see if they find anything.

I agree with LG. A sudden change in smell with no food, treat or bedding change often signals a health issue. Is his poop still normal looking?
