Sleeping too much?

1495 Views 7 Replies 5 Participants Last post by  Chalupa
Just got my first hedgehog sunday and shes become accustomed to her home and what not. But ever since I've gotten her the CHE and what not shes been sleeping like a rock and barely coming out only to eat and drink, other than the play time. Is this bad?

I dont think im overheating her im using a 100w che and a rheostat on the lowest setting so im not sure if i am or not
Shes not shy, shes not sneezing or anything like that shes got good stools i guess you would call it and shes not hybernating cuz i can wake her up. She also eats alot when i give it to her and we play with her all the time. shes only 8 weeks old i believe. so im not sure if its normal baby sleep but im going to get a thermometer sometime today to see if shes too hot.

If you're using a heater you need a thermometer. If you don't know what her cage temperature is at she could be too warm or to cold and you would have no idea. Sleeping a lot can be so many things, illness, over heating, hibernation, not eating, boredom, shyness, normal baby sleeping, normal nocturnal sleeping habits.

Help us out with some more information.
I couldnt find one anywhere at any stores here where I live i guess the next best thing is online. :/
