I switched Linny to Soft-Sorbent as someone here recommended it as a better bedding than Carefresh (which I read can cause mites).

They had different scents for odor control (mint, rose, lavender), and picked lavender to help with the her *ahem* smells.

I just made the change today: She was annoyed by the change in her home and ran around looking confused, but eventually went to sleep in her igloo. I'm hoping she'll get used to it, and there are no adverse effects with the lavender scent.

It didn't dawn on me that the scent might bother her, or even be harmful to her; now I'm worried. :(

(Note: Liners aren't an option w/ Linny, she freaks out with no bedding to burrow and nest in).

Thanks all. :) I'll return my unopened bag, and get unscented.
I can't believe I didn't think of her sense of smell. I guess I assumed it would be subtle.

I'm thinking the scent will diminish over the days, so I'll wait it out for the weekly cleaning; but if her regular behavior changes, I'll dump it.

Incidentally, when I tried liners, she had the exact same reaction.
So she may be reacting to the change more than the smell.

My major concern is lavender being unhealthy like aloe or cedar for hedgies.
