I've received this information from another breeder:

...the price of the product has come down because apparently the demand is down. More people are opting to use Advantix for their dogs, than Revolution. It looks like Revolution may not be sold much longer, judging by the sale prices for it, and what my vet has told me...
I know that when I needed it, I could not find a single Vet in my area that sold it. I have found a link online, and they do NOT require a prescription.

The prices are cheap, but it's from Australia.....so I hope it the 'real thing' and not some knock off. I have not heard any rumors of generic Revolution being sold on the market, as it was with many of the other flea/tick meds. If anyone has heard anything or knows anything negative about this company, please post it here. Otherwise, it might be a good idea to start 'stock piling' it.

Even if it is stockpiled, it has an expiration date, so it will only be good for so long  and then there will be none to replace it.

Yes, I had forgot to mention that in my previous post.
But it still might be worth getting a couple packs.
You could always use it on your other pets.

This really sucks.
What other options would hedgie owners have, if this is taken off the market?

Although, if the prices come down and are more competitive with the other Rx meds, then maybe it will sell more often. The problem I've seen with it, is that it is almost double the cost of the other Rx options.

I just called my two vets about this and one was shocked to hear it. There is such a high demand out of their office. They are hoping this isnt true.

The other heard it from a client but wasnt sure if it was true or not. They did say some brand by Advantage (Vantage Multi.. or something like that) is the safest way to go with hedgehogs.

She also heard that Revolution was going to reformulate their current product and remarket it and put it back out. The vet said she has seen a LOT of dogs come in with issues from using it. So that might be the issue with Revolution. Not the low demand but the problems animals are having.

i was thinking... is there any home - homemade remedies that may take care of mites? not only would it cost less but if something did ever happen to revolution that would be a perfect back up, also can hedgie mites transfer to cats? if so what are the symptoms for cats?
