I know that feeding freeze dried insects is generally not recommended. Money is super tight right now. I usually buy her crickets live, gut load them and freeze them. She won't "hunt". I've tried. I also do live mealworms. Those 2 are pretty inexpensive and I can get, no problem.I am finding that black soldier fly larvae and waxworms are out of my budget right now. I found some dried ones online for a really good price. Since there isn't really an exoskeleton would they be ok if I rehydrated them? I'm sure I could just leave them out but these are all things she's used to having and I don't wanna make an already grumpy girl sad. Thanx in advance for any advice!

Dried insects have basically no nutrition, your better off just not using them at all if you can't get them.

I'm sure your hog will forgive you!
