I have two hedgies:
Bianca, albino dob 10/31/09
Brina, brown dob 1/24/10

Bianca is very small. Brina has actually overtaken her in size. Bianca is a runner though and will only eat catfood and a bit of eggs. Brina loves her mealies, and pretty much anything else and is not a runner.

I'm seeing Brina quill which seem about the right age, however I'm seeing Bianca quill again. Is it possible that her 12wk quilling was delayed because of her small size? I'm not seeing any signs of mites (no scratching, clean pink skin and quills are growing in).

Right now they are eating the same food mixture.

Bianca may just be late in starting her quilling. I've had them not quill until 4 or 5 months. Her size wouldn't really have anything to do with quilling. Nutrition could affect quilling times but what you feed is fine. My only suggestion to the food would be to add a different brand of food so they aren't all Blue Buffalo.
