Hi! Sneezy has been loosing more quills then normal the last few weeks. We watch him and it doesent seem like he is itchy, and the quills are not coming out of one spot, and there are not handfulls of them- its like 3 each time we hold him. Is that normal? is he shedding because of spring?
Also- he seemed 100% himself- but we found something weird in his cage and it almost looked like vomit. Do hedgies puke? he could have just peed on something- but we just wanted to check!
Thanks!

How old is he? quilling happens between 7-11 weeks usually (mostly around 9).

Also hedgehogs can puke, it is usually because something got caught in the roof of their mouth or they were choking.

Some breeders and owners also say that their hedgehogs shed between 10 and 20 quills in spring, but not much more than that. If you notice bald patches, then it becomes a real concern and your hedgie may have mites or dry skin or an infection
