[Ghost]

My hedgehog Ghost is about 2 months old.
The breeder I got him from gave us a small bag of cat food when we adopted him.
This cat food seems to be giving him smelly diarrhea. (not sure what brand it is)
I was wondering what type of cat/hedgehog food you guys use to feed your hedgies.
I am aware that they also need fruits/vegies/insects occasionally.
I've found a few products online that may work but I want you guys to share your thoughts on these products as well as give me some suggestions.
Should I be looking for grain free? Low fiber? High moisture? etc.

Check out the links that Draenog posted. Hedgehog food isn't a good choice because the ingredients are pretty bad. The Merrick food would be good IF you mixed it with another food of 30% protein or less. You want the overall protein content to be around 35%, so that food is too high on its own.

Are you positive that it's just the food giving him diarrhea? Is it the same food the breeder was feeding him before he came home with you? I would suggest possibly getting a fresh sample (less than 24 hours) to take to the vet for a stool test to make sure he doesn't have an intestinal infection. Those often cause weird poops and strong smelling poop.
