do female hedgehogs visibly menstruate? i know dogs either get fixed or they have female diaper type thing for their doggy time of the month, lol. so do female hedgehogs do the same?

No. Hedgehogs are induced ovulators. If you ever see blood coming from that area it is reason to see a veterinarian. Bleeding usually means there is a UTI or a uterine problem.

okay thank you! i just wanted to know because i'm considering getting another hedgehog and i wanted to maybe get a female one this time. i have a male. i wouldn't keep them in the same cage obviously and i don't plan on breeding them because i don't know the history of my hedgie that i have now. would it be okay for them to be in the same room? or is that too close and then the female could start ovulating?
