i could put coroplast over the mesh and velcro all along the bottom removable part to seal that better and still make it easy to remove to rinse off

You would need to cover all of the mesh, even a 6 week old baby hedgehog can climb out of a 13 inch tall bin with nothing in the bin to climb on. A hedgehog would use that mesh like a ladder to climb out and a fall from the top could be very dangerous.

Can you hedgehog proof a room, like the bathroom, and use it as a play area for your hedgehog? That would keep him safe from other animals and you could be in there with him.

no room in our house is able to be fully hedgehog proof and i plan to cover all mesh

What are you going to cover the mesh with? What is the bottom of that dog playpen made out of?

Those also are quick unfold and they are assembled. They make laundry baskets, dog kennels, kid tents, all sorts of things like this.
I don't imagine that would keep your pig out, I know my bosun with have it figured out in a matter of seconds how to knock it over.
Most playpens aren't that sturdy. That is why they either need modifications or just built from scratch.
What size cage are you going to be using?

A 3 ft x 1.5 ft tub im gonna cover mesh with choroplast my bedroom door will be closed to keep all animals out when I use it and probably the same material as the sides not the mesh
