I don't have my little one outside yet... (today is -15 C C'mon summer!), but I do have her out for a couple hours during the day. She sleeps in her hedgie bag, so as long as I don't disturb her too much, I can have her out a few hours during her sleep time. Usually I'm watching tv or cleaning. She's a hard sleeper, so I know I haven't disturbed her :lol:

 

When she is sleeping with you during the day do you count that as part of your bonding time or do you still take her out for play time when she wakes up in the evening?

 

I personally count cuddle time as bonding time. Even if my hog isn't fully awake, she is still with me and she's spending that time getting more and more used to my voice and smell and being touched. Keep in mind that for most hogs, the more time they spend out of their cage, the more sleep they're losing. If you take your hog out to cuddle for a couple hours during the morning to cuddle AND a couple hours at night to play, you might end up with a very tired, cranky hog.

Lots of us spend time with our little ones during daylight hours. Obviously since they are nocturnal, they mostly sleep during the day, but that's just fine since sleepy hogs = cuddly hogs.
