So I finally got my lab results back for Beck's fungal test for his mysterious quill loss. Everything came back negative, which is good, although not that enlightening. He's had his second treatment with Revolution, and he'll get his third in a week, if it was mites. The quill loss appears to be abating, and I see new quills coming in, which is a massive relief. He's also on a fleece liner now, and good food. Hopefully my poor little guy is on the mend. He's a little huffy, but I would imagine it can't be too comfortable to be regrowing a bunch of quills.

Glad it was negative! Hopefully his only issue is mites and he'll start filling in those bald spots as his quills come in...
Lily still seems to be in the 50+ stage, but she's only had one dose of Revolution thus far. I decided to hold off on the fungal test here for now, because the other day I saw her moving around her cage and scratching quite a bit, so I'm pretty sure it's just the mites. :? Hoping she'll follow Beck back into health after I can give her some more Revolution!
Give Beck some love from me and Lily!

Heres a big yipee for Beck! Now you can get back to investigating sneakers you little devil! And wishing that the ever so handsome LeRoux and my angel Miss Lily feel well soon. I think LeRoux and Miss Lily like to worry their mommies!

Well Leroux and Beck are in the same boat. The DMT fungal came back with nothing on my little boy. He is still losing about 10 quills a day (nothing like others but still concerning) and he didn't even touch his food last night so I had to syringe feed him a/d today.

He finished up his medications for the giardia and the other bacteria he had yesterday -metronidazole and clavamox.

I am left clueless and with no answers on why he is losing quills too.

He is being treated for mites with Revolution due to the TX hog arriving home (just decided to treat them all regardless of the newbie being quarantined)...

His quills have huge flakes of skin on the ends of them... *sigh*

As you said,... none the wiser.
