My boy likes to dig to the bottom of his cage and it is plastic so its very loud to hear him scratching. I was wondering if you guys recommend anything i could put on the bottom of the cage to quiet his digging habits down a tad?

I think if you put anything down, he'd just try and dig through it until he successfully arrived at the bottom... where you'll find him digging away at the plastic.

They way I've dealt with my little one digging on her plastic is to decide it's cute rather than annoying since I can't really change her behavior in that regard. I also have a blanket between her cage bottom and the desk it's on. Seems to dampen the noise a bit.

Mine loves to dig as well and I just let him be. He thinks he's digging and if it keeps him happy, he can go right ahead. :)

If yours digging really bothers you, find a way to pin the liner down so he can't dig under it. If you're using shavings, you're out of luck. ;)

I got the problem solved, i went out and bought some softer smooth plastic liner that you would put under your desk chair if its on carpet. I secured some fabric to the underside of it to put between the plastic cage bottom and the plastic. Its a snug fit in there , made sure he wouldn't be able to get under it. He was digging his heart out and you could barely hear him. :)

Now we can both be happy

P.s I love when hes wheeling in the middle of the night and you get up to watch, he knows your there as he stops looks at you then starts sniff'n and then goes right back to his jog.
