hi guys! I'm new in taking care of hedgehogs and I'm just wondering if it is really natural for my hedgehogs to scratch almost constantly? or do they have the mites? if so what can i do to help get the mites off them? I've heard of the bad effects of using Ivermectin so what are other alternatives? thanks!

How old is your hedgehog? It's possibly it's quilling, but mites sound likely.

If you seriously suspect mites, you should bring your hedgehog to the vet for a scraping. Insist on Revolution (kitten sized), as you've heard correctly about Ivermectin.

Call and make sure your Vet actually does prescribe & sell the REVOLUTION, before you set up an appointment. I have found several vets in my area that do not prescribe or sell it.
