Theres a few tricks but its not easy at all. If you have someone who could help by holding her and letting a leg through there fingers while you cut that might work, you can set them on their backs and wait for them to unroll (This is what I personally do but its a big pain, and if they refuse to unball set them in some shallow water and it should gettem out.

Nail trimming doesn't seem to be pleasant for either party but I'd much prefer the difficulty over sedatives as most vets aren't too familar with hedgies.

Also, don't expect to get them all at once. If you can get one foot per a session you're doing fine. Don't forget the back nails seem to grow much quicker than the front.
