i am still working on my ABC of hedgie grooming, so please bear with me. i see that trimming nails is necessary, but when? Sweetie has been with us for a month and his back nails seem fine to me. his back toes look normal to me. no curling under. he's on his wheel a lot. any suggestions?

I usually trim nails once a month or so. From what I remember Inky's nails grew faster when he was younger, it was more like once every two weeks. Usually once they start touching the ground when he walks, they are ready to be cut again. Some hedgies' quicks may be farther out there and can't be cut back that far. Just depends on what's most comfortable for you to cut and for your hedgie to walk around with. :)
