Hi all,
I am the happy owner of my first hegdehog, an adorable little animal that is now about 4 months old. I am yet to cut her nails but they are getting long: the hind nails are about 2-3mm long now. I would like some advice before I start, eg: how long should they be grown out before clipping, and is it better to use nail scissors or clippers. I have read some horror stories about people accidently hurting their hedgie, so am a little apprehensive.
Thanks in advance.

We have found the easiest way is to kinda tag team it. One of us will scruff while the other clips. Just watch out for the quick. Keep some corn starch close by just in case you get a little close and you should be fine. We use baby nail clippers.
