Mites!!! What do I do?

Recently I was given a hedgehog name Theodore. My parents have his older brother, Simon, whoem we just found out has a pretty bad case of mites. After realizing Simon's mite problem I checked on Theodore and noticed that he has mites as well, but they are few and mostly located on his ears. My fiance' was told to inject both hedgehogs with IverMectin. Does anyone know the proper procedure when dealing with hedgehog mites? We are currently unable to take them to a vet, so whatever we do has to be at home. Thanks.

Absolutely do NOT use ivermectin. An ivermectin injection can easily go wrong, and you will end up with a dead hedgie. Read this sticky made by Nancy: http://www.hedgehogcentral.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=6

The safest route so far, is by using kitten/cat Revolution.
Dosage can be found here: http://www.hedgehogcentral.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=2628

And it would be better to go to the vets. Please bring both hedgies to the vet asap to get them treated. While there are "home" remedies, Revolution has been tried, tested and deemed safe.
