Hi, I'm blpipers. I just got my first hedgie this Sunday.....she is 3 months old and what a cutie! I have been learning alot from this forum and I wanted to say "kuddos" to everyone who has posted such good infromation.

My question is: Should I give her mealworms and crickets everyday (and how many) or should I only give them every other day? I free feed her purina one cat food, but she loves the crickets! I just don't want to give her too many.

Thanks for your help.

Hey and welcome to HHC!

Mealworms are pretty fatty and should be fed in moderation. If you have a hedgie that runs a LOT- (like mine) you can feed more of them more often without worrying about her getting overweight. Crickets, on the other hand, are much less fatty. If you wanted to feed her two or three a night I think that would be fine. For mealworms, you can feed just a few every other day, or you can clump several mealies into one day a week. Whatever you feel is best for her.
