My Zoe has been quilling for a week or two now and she has flakey skin I think because I was bathing her once a week with the oatmeal shampoo to help and then I read that once a week might be to much. I was also using flax seed oil after every bath and a drop or two every couple of days between baths. Her skin still seems pretty flaky right now. Should I stay the course or add something to the routine? I didn't know if maybe baths in cooler water without shampoo on off setting weeks might be a relief (i.e. warm water shampoo bath first week, cooler water no shampoo the second week, back to warm water shampoo bath the third week and so on). She doesn't seem to be having any difficulty, she's as playful as usual and doesn't seem to scratch at it much. I just looked and noticed it and thought I might try to help her out.

Also are there any other types of moisturizers that's safe to use other then flax seed oil?

My thanks in advance.

I think that Flax seed oil is the best.

Have you tried dripping a little of the flax seed oil on her food?
That helped mine a lot and now they have a little bit of milled flax seed in their food

Quilling babies can be bathed every 3-4 days with a moisturizing bath such as Aveeno oatmeal body wash or just plain oatmeal swished in the water. It helps sooth their sore skin. Don't use shampoos as they are drying.
A few drops of flax seed or vitamin E oil in the rinse will help too. I prefer flax seed as it isn't as sticky.

I haven't tried the flax seed oil in the food. I will try that today.

And yes, I have been using the Aveeno Oatmeal wash. I put a little in the water and swirl it around and then I use it on her when I clean her.

I think the every bath thing is working. She's been much more playful and doesn't seem quite as dry.

Thanks for your replys
