I know that hedgehogs are awake at night and sleep durring the day, but Im jw why if the room she is in is dark as it can be then I open the door and she gets a little bit of light in her cage she runs and hides! is this normal??

It is totally normal. Hedgehogs are normally cautious creatures, and when you open the door, it's a new noise and she probably gets startled. As well, hedgehogs are shy, so you coming into the room might also cause her to run and hide. My hedgie does this all the time and most people's hedgies as well--though I won't say anything for certain.

I think June-Bug is SUCH a cute name btw! Please post pics of your girl soon!

Yep, perfectly normal! Hedgies startle pretty easily and many don't like the light, so they run into their hiding place when the light comes on.
