She is just dark enough(in bands) and has just enough white quills for it to be in question. I dunno. Not that many... not that little...

Yep. You will see as she gets older the "white" or snowflake look will diminish. I fought over my Nique as to whether she was barely a snowflake or not but as she got older it became apparent she was not a snowflake. She still has many white quills but not nearly enough. The colors are much brighter when they are younger. Some places suggest to be absolutely POSITIVE about a hedgehog's color you look at them when they are 1 year old. After 1 year of age they really start to fade. And the fading is just enough to really make it hard to determine the color sometimes. The fading is not just washing out or blurring of color. They fade towards chocolate. So darker hedgies will lighten and lighter hedgies will darken.

Thanks for that second post reap. not only was it informative, but it let me know that i had reason to not be posotive she was a chocolate. I think 30% white quills makes a hedgie snoflake, right? Jade is probably almost 20%, so i couldnt tell. so ya... thx. btw, what did fought over my Nique mean? I think i can pick up what it means from the use of it, but i was just wonderin.

I was "fighting" (in my head) over whether or not she had 30% white quills. As she got older it was easier to determine.
