For Christmas I was thinking of upgrading Ivan's cage to something a little bit larger. I saw this cage at Pet Smart and I was wondering if it would be okay to use? The wire bottom is removable so everything would sit in the plastic bottom.

That is a great cage. I know of many people who have it. The wire can either be removed and use the plastic tray as the base, or some people have covered the wire with coroplast and used the plastic base as storage for liners, food and such.

I have a cage just like that that my husband picked up at an auction sale, and I haven't had any problems. The doors are big enough to get a bucket wheel through and the cage is a nice size.

I have that cage at my mom's house, and I took the wire off, so that my boy was directly on the plastic bottom. Works great and he does well in it. Easy to clean too, with nice big doors.
