They can be really tricky. Especially if the hedgehog has been living on a substrate bedding or is otherwise stained. Once you get them nice and clean, sit under a good light (natural lighting is best as it doesn't cast a yellow tinge) and look at the quills really close. If you see any hint of color that you don't think is a stain, then chances are its a pale apricot.
