It appears (as many on here said) that I am allergic to my new baby. It's only been a few days so I'm hoping it could still just be a cold but I do have a history of animal allergies. I'm going to try to make it work with OTC meds and frequent cage cleanings, but has anyone tried a HEPA Filter to filter out the smell and allergens? And preferably something not very expensive....

I'm not seeing anything regarding allergies mentioned, but...
It's not extremely hard to avoid some of the allergens. Bedding may be a trigger, fleece won't have the dust. If the cage isn't in your bedroom, you get the opportunity to sleep without allergens.
We have used hepa filters before with bird dander. I believe it came from walmart and was under $50.
