I have been browsing this forum for almost a year or so now, and I’ve decided to finally join! I have one hedgehog named Spike, she is around a year old.

A bit off topic for my first post, but I’ve been looking for good hamster forums. I joined Hamster Central, but people on there seem quite rude and the the registration email never shows up. Any recommendations are appreciated!

HamsterClubhouse is another forum; they started up after HamsterHideout closed.

side note; I have been in the hamster community for several years - many folk in the hamster community can be very rude towards people who don’t have species appropriate care right off the bat. They are no where near as friendly as other small pet communities. But hamsterclubhouse seems to be a rare exception to this, so I’d definitely recommend checking them out!

Than you, I’ll be sure to check it out! If you don’t mind me asking, what are some resources you would recommend? My sister is getting the hamster and I want to make sure it gets the best care. So far we’ve been looking at Victoria Raechel, Munchies place, and a breeder called Strongbrew

victoria raechel is the only one out of those you’ve listed that I’d recommend. Strong Brew is one of the co-owners of OHC, if im remembering correctly. She gives very dated advice IMO and I personally do not think she has the best standards. That’s my two cents though. I’m not familiar with munchie enough to say she is or is not a good resource (she is a bit too much for me, in terms of loudness lol, and i just can never get through her videos when I’m sent them by people to comment on whether she gives good or bad advice).

Plueschraupe on insta is very good, along with HamsterEducationAdventures. I used to run FiveLittleHams too, and I’ve been referenced quite a bit - not active as much anymore, but the website is still up and running if you’re interested. I will say about myself that I do not really cater towards young kids in terms of how the information is presented; I tailor more towards the older/more experienced keeper and my content is often too much for younger folks (depending on the age of your sister).
Dogshamsters on insta was also very good. She’s not active anymore but the info is still there. I will also say, HamsterInfoIreland also have a really awesome website that is easy for younger kids to understand too.
Hope that helps!

Hello. I can second Fivelittlehams website and Victoria Rachael on youtube, but chatting with hamster owners is good too. This is another forum if you haven't seen it :), There are a lot of resources on the home page. The Hamster Forum - it's on google. It's quite new and also started after Hamster Hideout closed. You might want to take a look. I like to think we're a friendly and helpful bunch. I'm not sure if I'm allowed to link it here but hope it's ok!
