My hedgie is on the larger side (its not his fault... pervious owners fed him junk food!). I bought him a flying saucer, and he seems to love it. I love the ease of cleaning it as well. The only issue i have found, is that he moves it throughout the night. it will start out in the middle of the cage in the evening, and by morning it has migrated to the back of the cage. We are going to be geting him a new cage, and I am trying to think of ways to attach the wheel to it. Any ideas?

Wow that's a tricky one because of the shape of them. My thought would be a brick of some sort across the base of it (on the feet). Maybe wrap the brick in a soft cloth so it isn't rough if he rubs against it passing by? I don't know how you would attach the base to the cage. Maybe drill two small holes like this . . into the back of the base and thread through a super long zip tie, then zip tie to the cage bars? I don't know what kind of bars you will have. Sounds to me like he is pushing it around, is there a way to put a non-slip mat under it so it doesn't slide? I have little mats like people use to get a good grip on a tightly-lidded jar. That might help even after you zip tie it.

I was thinking maybe zip ties... perhaps two of them to secure it to one spot. I also was considering velcro? They have velcro that you can attach to fabric quite easily, and was thinking maybe making a strap of some sort out of it.

Can you fit it in a cookie tray, or something to restrict how far it can move around?
