My hedgehog has something wrong with him and I can't figure out what it is. My vet and I tested him for mites, the test came up negative, but we treated him with revolution just in case. The problems didn't seem to go away, so we treated hedgie again with revolution just in case...I don't know what to do. :(

I thought maybe it was really dry skin and used Humilac on him, that didn't solve anything. Could it be his diet? he gets flaxseed dropped on his food and vet grade omega 3 as well on occasion. It's bothering him so much.

+ lump
+ discolored skin
+ quilling
+ very itching
+ unhappy

Please see photos, he's greasy from an oatmeal and flaxseed oil bath.

Did the vet take a biopsy of the lump to find out what it is? If not then that's what I would do next. A skin scraping would help to to check for bacterial skin infection or a fungal infection.

We did a skin scraping a year or so ago and it cam up negative. I'll take hedgie to get another scraping.

Is there anything else that could cause quilling aside from mites or fungal infection?

Hedgie's poop last night was green and had mucus on it with a bit of blood in the mucus :(
