So, my hedgie hasn't been using a litter box but does pee & poop in the same exact place every day ( other then the occasional poopy on the wheel)
so as soon as i get a little more money i will get a litter box which i am sure she will probably end up using.
oh and btw i say that i need to save up some money to get some things in a few forums and i am just letting u all know that that is 4 things that r not very nessesary. i have an emergency hedgie kit i made and other then having the obvious it has 100$ 4 an emergency vet visit :)

back to be4... i was wondering what people have had more success on the ferret litter pan or the box type? or is it more depending on the hedgie?
and what should i put in there( what bedding)?cuz i know cat litter is bad. i am currently using liners.

thnx! :D

Personally I found that the ferret litter pans were too small and cat boxes are too high. I made a custom "litter pan" out of coroplast with 3 high sides and one low side. I've seen a lot of people using low tupperware dishes. "Yesterdays News" is widely used by hedgie owners for litter.

yesterdays news is a type of cat litter. its the kind i have :) and as for the litter box- i had originally made a little hut for theo out of a shoebox by taking off the lid, turning it upside down, and cutting a little arc that he can fit through. he really liked it. :) but eventually i decided to flip it over and use it as a litter box, and it works really well. the last litter pan he refused to go in- but this one he loves. yay :)
