Hello!
I've had my hedgie for about a month. His name is Tucker and he is about 9 weeks old now.
I spend anywhere from 15 minutes to a hour with him every day, but usually about 5 minutes into every bonding session, he gets super frantic and tries to run away from me towards his cage. It's been like this since we brought him home. He never cuddles and will, on very rare occasions, sleep in his bonding bag next to me.

It's not that he's even exploring the environment, because it's always a beeline towards the cage. I'm just worried that he's afraid of me and he won't come around.

Advise please?

What do you do when he does this? If you put him back in his cage he's probably doing it because he knows that he'll get put away if he does.

I usually put him in his snuggle sack. More often than not, he will then try to "dig" through the fleece of the sack. If I leave him in there long enough (15 minutes plus), he goes to sleep.

That sounds pretty normal, hedgehogs don't like being in the open so try to keep him covered while he's out and he'll probably settle down faster.

I'm a few days late but I would like to add that it's probably because you aren't spending enough time with him on a daily basis so the bonding will take much longer. You have to spend AT LEAST and hour with him every day.
