So I bought another hedgehog from the pet store in London, Ontario. They claim he's 5 months old but he's almost two and a half times the size of my champagne year old Hedgie. When I bought him he had no wheel in the cage and he shared it with another hedgehog that was from the same litter. So now that I've had him for the past almost 3 weeks I've put a wheel in his cage and he's sniffed at it, and sat on it maybe three times but doesn't move or walk. He tips it over too by going behind it, almost like he's tipping it on purpose. I've watched him after I put the wheel back upright he goes and sticks his head behind it to tip it all over again.

Does anyone know of any tips or tricks to get him running? I also have 3 of those huge clear balls that you can put small animals in and let them roam around but I'm kind of hesitant to put him in it.

I'm pretty sure it's a comfort wheel it's large and burgundy. I have toy balls with bells and regular toy balls for routing. When I put my hand in his cage and put the ball in front of his face he starts to nudge it and push it in my hand. I have sat him on the wheel and tried to turn it slowely and he just sits there and puts his head down hissing at me or he hops off and walks to his tree trunk and goes inside until I walk away.
