I recently purchased this tunnel at my local Petsmart. It is 10 inches long and 6 inches wide in diameter. Has anyone used this tunnel before? I was wondering if the nesting fluff inside the tube is safe or should be taken out. Thanks for any responses :)

(I have never uploaded photos before so I am unsure if these will actually work or not, please let me know if they don't and if you know how to fix it!)

The tunnel is fine, but the fluff isn't safe, so yeah, take that out. It can wrap around limbs & cut off circulation - it's not safe for hamsters or guinea pigs either. Keep in mind that the tunnel will be hard to keep clean and you may have to end up throwing it out after a while. If you want something similar that's easier to wipe poop off & won't absorb urine, a lot of people use 4" diameter PVC pipe for tunnels. :) Oatmeal containers are also nice for a cheap disposable tunnel or hide (if you leave the bottom on).

Thank you! I bought it and then I kept thinking about it and was questioning the safety of the fluff. I will be getting my first hedgehog at the end of this month so I am in the preparation stages and just want everything to be perfect. :) Thank you for your response
