Its with great sadness that I announce the passing of my sweet lil rescue girl Mirabelle. She was out visiting with us on Christmas Eve, happily snuggling as she always did. When we put her back she hungrily ate her special soft food and snuggled into her sleeping bag. Christmas morning when I went in to turn on the light in the hedgie room and check on everyone, I found Mirabelle laying outside her hedgie bag gasping. I picked her up and snuggled her close, she had agonal breathing at this point, I told her that we loved her very much, but that if it was time for her to go she should go, and we would miss her. She licked my hand, gasped twice and was gone.

Mirabell was my first rescue I took in, and we will always remember her and her story.

That is so sad! I am very sorry to hear she passed. But, I am glad she held on so she could say goodbye.

Oh Nikki. I am so sorry. At least she wasn't sick and went quickly in your arms. I know how much you will miss her.

Thank you Nancy and Lizard Girl, she'll leave a big hole in our lives....but i'm glad we had the time we did with her.

I'm so sorry for your loss of Mirabelle. I hope you can take comfort in knowing that by rescuing her you gave her a loving home and that meant so much to her. You were lucky to have had one another, even if it wasn't for long enough.

I saw her quill loss pictures; she looks like a plush toy, so furry and fuzzy. She looked like she was a lovely friend. Lots of love.
