Hi everyone,

I'm leaving this Thursday morning on vacation down south for a couple weeks and am leaving my hedgies with a trusted friend while I'm away.

He is very good with animals but isn't very familiar with hedgies aside from what I have showed him so far mostly covering the basics. I'm giving him this forum info to come to if he needs help with anything as I will be very hard to get a hold of while away.

Thanks in advance for any help to my hedgie sitter! (His name is Frank BTW)

I find a daily/weekly checklist typed up for easy access helps greatly for someone who is pet sitting.
You can include emergency numbers, as well as different 'warning' signs to look for. Stuff to include would be hibernating, choking, perhaps bloody nails, etc etc.

Anyways, hope you have a great holiday! ^_^

I will definitely be leaving Frank some checklists and tons of info including emergency contacts when I drop off the gang tomorrow evening. Although he is not experienced with hedgies he is fantastic with animals and he's always taken great care with my "kids", I wouldn't be leaving the hedgies with him if I thought he couldn't handle it.

Just covering extra bases for him in case something makes him wonder that I might have forgotten to touch base with him on before I go. If anything serious comes up, he knows to take them to the vet right away and they in turn have been notified that I will be away and to bill me for anything that comes up while I'm gone should that happen.

I'm a little nervous about leaving my girls behind but am very much looking forward to relaxing on a nice beach :D Work has been crazy this year and I've saved up my time off for now, seemed like it would never come. It still doesn't feel quite real.

Christmas with palm trees :D that'll be a first and a sweet change of pace!
