Hi all,

Well yesterday I needed to stock up on food for my hedgies and prepare their adult food mix as well as pick up another bag of the kitten food they're still eating to transition them over.

I was at the cash with 5 different bags of cat foods and a couple toys for my dog. The cashier looks at it all and says: "wow, your cats are really well fed!!!" with quite a surprised look on her face.

I laughed and explained that I was preparing a mix for my hedgies. She (and another cashier nearby that overheard) started awwing at how cute hedgies are and that they wanted some too. I had to show them some pics I had on my phone and they gushed even more.

It was such a funny moment! Especially when the girl first saw all the different kinds of food lol!

Cost a pretty penny but I should be good for a few months now with this mix!

Hehe, that is funny! I've gotten comments like that at Petco when I go get my annual hedgie-food-stock-up to make the new mix. Of course, when I say it is for my hedgie they look at me like I'm an idiot and say that well duh, they have hedgehog food why not get that. :x

That particular comment resulted in a (semi) lengthy speech on what pet hedgies should eat. Not sure if it had anything to do with me, or if it was just good timing, but the next time I showed up they weren't carrying Brown's anymore.

I always get strange look, because I often ask "isn't there a smaller bag" and I have to explain it all. Since I shop at small high quality only cat/dog food store, one one tries to suggest me hedgehog food! I'm starting to run a bit low (with a second hedge and sharing with my firend). I just hate to search for the light version of Chicken soup, seems like one one carry it.

I've always fed my cats the Chicken Soup, so that is automatically part of the mix. I found a pet store that sold me some sample bags of the Duck and Green Pea for very cheap. There is another store that will give us samples of other approved foods, if they have it, just because they love the fact I have a hedgie. I always buy a few cans of the Duck and Green Pea food from them. Nigel won't eat old food, so the sample bags have been a life saver!
