Actually, Silent Spinners are considered unacceptable for hedgies.

Besides falling apart and falling on hedgies, the crevice in the middle is a toe and nail trap that can cause your hedgie to rip out their nails...

Flying saucers is a bit undecided, but popular. I personally love mine and my hedgie uses his well. It's also very easy to clean.

There are other wheels to consider, like comfort wheels, and Reaper's Cake Walks(which comes highly recommended)

The silent spinner is one of the most dangerous wheels on the market...the two piece design can catch little hedgie toes/nails and rip them off, also very unstable and can fall over with the hedgie in it causing injury, the wheel is a bowl type where the pee/poo wont run off like it should, and the nut in the back will also come loose and cause the wheel to fall with the hedgie...This wheel is a death trap and i would recommend going without a wheel for a little bit before ever recommending someone to buy this nasty contraption.

Im not a huge fan of the Saucer either, but given a choice of the two it will be the Saucer everytime....In my honest opinion i would say to get a Cake Walk Supreme Wheel from Reaper, they are the best wheel out there. We have two very satisfied little girls to prove it.

I'm a fan of the Flying Saucer. My Ziggy loves it and it is super-easy to clean. Plus, it comes in cool colors like lime green, blue, and purple...LOL! Now, I'm not sure if it's because Ziggy really gets going or what, but it does fling a LITTLE bit of poop onto the side of the cage on occasion. Luckily he has an 8" high coroplast wall that catches it and makes it super-easy to just wipe clean. But, it is something that should probably be considered.
