My new hedgehog who I got a couple days ago has very dry skin. He is still getting used to me so I dont want to give him a bath and stress him out. Do you think it will be alright until he gets used to me?

You can try to give him some flax seed oil with his kibble once or twice a week. Search around the message boards for "flax seed" as there are a few posts about it (i.e. where to get it, how to administer it, etc.).

Also, make sure the flakes aren't moving. If they are, then your little one has mites and not just dry skin (it's very easy to confuse the two). Mites require a trip to the vet for Revolution drops. There's quite a few threads on this board about mites/Revolution.

Cloud had very dry skin when i got him too. it turned out to be mites I think a trip to the vet is in order, just to be on the safe side!
