My hedgehog is a male and is a little under a year old. Over the weekend during bath time I noticed that my little man had one quill on the front of his brow that looked damaged in the center of the quill.

The once white quill is now brownish in the center and looks miss-shaped (bent or chewed up). He lives alone and I do not believe there is anything in the cage that he could have hit it on.

I am worried that this is some kind of mites? I am not sure if mite attack the actual quill on occasions or if they only attack the skin. I could not tell all the way but it looked like another quill in the area was also starting to turn brownish.

Anyone have any answers????? Just want to make sure my little man stays healthy!
