I don't think he was happy, but it was the cutest noise.

Bonding time is usually snuggling in my lap and sleeping while I play on my laptop. Today I took Ender back upstairs to put him back and switch out hedgie bags. He was wandering on the floor a bit (which he doesn't do often) when he thought he got stuck among some boxes (the box from the lamp and heat emitter).

He let out this loud squeak. It sounded like a baby or dog squeak toy. It was so cute. It's the first time I've heard him make a noise other than hissing or wheefling.

I guess he was letting me know he was in trouble and Mom did come to his rescue!

aww that is cute! I wish my hedgie would make a noise other than huffing.. But I guess I should be glad he's never been distressed enough to yell for help. I still wanna hear his little voice though!
I saw a youtube video called All That Noise and it shows a hedgie just crying like a baby because he's at the vets. It's sooo cute! I never knew hedgies could be so loud before I saw that video.

Isn't that the famous "hedgehog scream of death" I think I've heard it once but was half asleep.

It was probably a toned down version of a "scream of death." More of a scream of "get me the heck out of here"
