I am getting really nervous about my hedgehog. When I first got her, she woke up at 9 every night, and from 10pm-4am she would sprint in her wheel. She is now 5 months old. She wakes up around 1am and eats. Then goes back to sleep until around 4am and will slowly walk in her wheel for about an hour then go back to sleep. I am getting extremely nervous. With the cooler weather I have a ceramic heat emitter on 76 degrees so it's not as if it is too cold for her to move around. I don't know what to do. When I have her out, she acts normal but when she is in her cage she barely does anything. Please help! I don't want her to gain weight or get sick or anything!

How much light is she getting? Hedgehogs need at least 12-14 hrs of light year round. So in the fall and winter, you need to keep a light on in the room.
She is getting light during the day. I have a recently moved and she is getting less light than what she used to get, but I have been noticing her lack of running before I moved. It has definitely increased since she moved into the new place though. I did think about that last night and I put a light on next to her cage all day today. I'll see what she is like tonight.

i have the same thing going on with my little boy! i am getting really worried! he hasnt pooped much either! he gets plenty of light and it is warm in the house and his cage. he doesnt have mites and he has been a little more "puffy" lately. now i had to move him into a different room due to Eve having babies. is he just tired because where he is now has more activity then he is used to? i trimmed his nails today and he fought me the whole time he never does that! he is usually very laid back. i also noticed today that he had some white crusty stuff on his front leg. maybe its his ummmm juice? im not sure. any ideas?
